Summer Fun Tote

Using canvas shopping bags is growing in popularity because it cuts down on waste and that is good for the environment. These bags can also be used as beach totes or even purses. These eco-friendly bags can be fashionable as well if you add a little style of your own to them.

Supplies:

1. Canvas tote

2. 3/16” thick ribbon and other ribbon if wanted

3. pony beads (plastic crafting beads)

4. puff paint

5. scissors

6. buttons

7. tacky glue

Instructions :

1. Measure and cut 24” of the 3/16” thick ribbon.

2. Tie a double knot around one of the straps. (In the center of the ribbon)

3. String beads until there is approximately 3” of ribbon left.

4. Tie a knot around last bead and double knot the ribbon.

5. Cut a ribbon to your liking and use tacky glue to attach ribbon where you would like it. ( You may sew it on if you like, but all sewing should be done by an adult.)

6. Lightly pencil in a picture or wording on the tote you would like to do in puff paint. (Pencil can be erased, but puff paint can’t.)

7. Cover pencil design with puff paints.

8. Place buttons where you would like them on the bag and either sew them or glue them on with tacky glue.
